Spinach is the best of all leafy vegetables.

Spinach is as important in the vegetable diet as it is in medicinal properties. Spinach has been cultivated in India since time immemorial. Spinach leaves are pale green, pointed, smooth and spreading. Spinach in Marathi, Spinach in English and Spinacia aleracia in classical language is a plant belonging to the genus Chenopodiaceae. There are two types of parents, native parents and foreign parents. We usually use native spinach in our diet. This type of exotic spinach is found in Asia.

Medicinal properties

Spinach is rich in iron, calcium, phosphorus as well as amino acids, proteins, minerals, moisture, fibrous and starchy foods, vitamins A, B and C, folic acid. According to Ayurveda, spinach is cool, diuretic, astringent, aerating, difficult to digest, biliary, interesting and painful. Due to all these properties, spinach is a very important vegetable in terms of health and is a dietary vegetable in all diseases.
